Masserie Tre Torri

2007 Salento Negroamaro

The Cantore Di Castelforte Masserie Tre Torri from the esteemed Salento region showcases the rich and vibrant character of the Negroamaro varietal. As a red wine from the 2007 vintage, it impresses with its robust and full-bodied nature, delivering a symphony of flavors that include dark fruit notes, hints of plum, and subtle spice. The refreshing acidity adds a lively quality, making it pleasantly balanced and appealing. With notable tannins, this wine exhibits a structured mouthfeel that beautifully complements its fruit intensity, which is prominent and pleasing. This lovely offering is dry, enhancing its versatility when paired with hearty dishes or enjoyed on its own, making it a remarkable representation of the Salento terroir.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
