Marmorelle Bianco

2015 Salento Malvasia Bianca Chardonnay

The Tenute Rubino Marmorelle Bianco is a captivating white wine hailing from the picturesque Salento region. Composed of a delightful blend of Malvasia Bianca and Chardonnay, this 2015 vintage showcases an alluring light-bodied structure that dances gracefully on the palate. It presents a bright and lively acidity, enhancing the overall freshness of this delightful pour. The fruit intensity leans towards the prominent side, with enticing notes of stone fruit and citrus that radiate from the glass. As a dry-style wine, it offers a refreshing and crisp finish that makes it wonderfully versatile for food pairings. With its easygoing character, this wine embodies the sun-kissed essence of Salento, making it an excellent choice for warm-weather enjoyment.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
