Le Vign Di Sammar

2004 Salento Negroamaro

Verve Le Vign Di Sammar is a captivating red wine hailing from the picturesque Salento region, known for its sun-soaked vineyards and rich terroir. This 2004 vintage of Negroamaro showcases a medium body, making it an approachable choice for a variety of palates. With bright and lively acidity, the wine offers a refreshing quality that perfectly balances its fruit intensity, which is prominently expressed through luscious notes of dark cherry and ripe plum. The tannins are notably firm yet well-integrated, providing structure without overwhelming the palate. This wine is beautifully dry, allowing the flavors to shine while providing a delightful mouthfeel that makes it an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes or a cozy evening by the fire. Enjoying this wine is truly an experience that evokes the warmth and charm of its southern Italian origins.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
