le Fossette

2010 Puglia Falanghina 100%

Alberto Longo le Fossette is a delightful white wine that showcases the pure expression of Falanghina, crafted from 100% handpicked grapes grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of Puglia. This vintage from 2010 displays a light-bodied profile, complemented by refreshing acidity that invigorates the palate. The fruit intensity is pronounced, revealing enticing notes of citrus, pear, and floral undertones that dance harmoniously in every sip. As a dry wine, it possesses a crisp, clean finish that makes it exceptionally food-friendly, enhancing its versatility for pairing with seafood, grilled vegetables, or light pasta dishes. A true gem from Italy's southern coast, this wine is an excellent reflection of the region's vibrant terroir and winemaking heritage.

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
