La Corte

2009 Salice Salentino Negroamaro 85%, Malvasia Nera 15%

Radius La Corte is a remarkable red wine that showcases the unique character of the Salice Salentino region. Composed of eighty-five percent Negroamaro and fifteen percent Malvasia Nera, this vintage delivers a beautifully deep color that immediately entices the eye. The wine presents a full-bodied profile, with an inviting mouthfeel that is complemented by its vibrant acidity, creating a lively and refreshing character. The fruit intensity is prominent, bursting with rich flavors of dark berries and cherries, while subtle notes of spices and earthiness add depth to the experience. With its notable tannins, this wine exhibits a balanced structure that promises both aging potential and drinkability. The dryness of the wine makes it an excellent choice for pairing with hearty Italian dishes, enhancing the dining experience with every sip.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
