Joseph Carr 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles, California

2017 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Joseph Carr's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the sunny vineyards of Paso Robles in California. This red wine is medium-bodied with a delicate acidity that offers a nice balance to the moderate fruit intensity. The tannins are notable, providing structure and depth to every sip, making it a perfect companion for hearty dishes or a cozy evening by the fire.

Tasting notes:

Lively aromas lift from the glass and are highlighted with handfuls of black cherry, licorice, burnt caramel, and vanilla. On the palate, this Cabernet is fresh and polished and illuminates layers of ripe fruit and comforting spice. Ripe flavors of black cherry and cassis are complemented by warm pie crust and drift into a lingering brambly fruit conserve.

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.
