il Bacio

2007 Puglia Negroamaro

Il Bacio il Bacio is a remarkable red wine crafted from the Negroamaro varietal, hailing from the sun-kissed region of Puglia. This 2007 vintage showcases a full-bodied profile, delivering a robust and inviting experience that captures the essence of southern Italy. The wine exhibits high acidity, providing a bright and lively freshness that beautifully balances its rich character. The fruit intensity is prominent, revealing luscious notes of dark cherry and ripe plum, intermingled with a hint of spice and earthiness that is characteristic of Negroamaro. Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
