Hacienda

2006 Paso Robles Mourvèdre

The 2006 Cass Hacienda Mourvèdre from Paso Robles is a splendid expression of this varietal, showcasing its rich and bold characteristics. This red wine presents a full-bodied profile, offering a delightful interplay of flavors that culminates in a satisfying experience. With high acidity that brings a bright and lively quality, it tantalizes the palate while balancing the wine's robust structure. The fruit intensity is prominent, with layers of dark fruit notes accentuating its complexity, while the tannins are notably firm, providing a solid backbone that enhances its age-worthiness. Its dryness allows the essence of the varietal to shine through, making it an exceptional choice for food pairings or enjoying on its own.

Central Coast
Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.
