2021 Livermore Valley Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Mourvedre

The Wente Vineyards GSM from the 2021 vintage is a delightful red blend hailing from the renowned Livermore Valley. This wine beautifully showcases the harmonious interplay of Grenache Noir, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, resulting in a medium-bodied profile that is both approachable and intriguing. With a vibrant acidity that dances on the palate, it offers a refreshing lift that complements its prominent fruit intensity. Notes of ripe red berries, subtle spices, and a touch of earthiness emerge, all framed by well-integrated tannins that add structure without overpowering the overall elegance. The wine is intriguingly dry, making it an ideal choice for a variety of food pairings, from grilled meats to hearty vegetarian dishes.

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.
