Grand Cuvee

2011 Cachapoal Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 55%, Carmenere 30%, Syrah 10%, Malbec 5%

The Alchemy Grand Cuvée from the Cachapoal Valley is a remarkable blend that showcases the depth and complexity of its varietals. Composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with an intriguing mix of Carmenere, Syrah, and Malbec, this wine presents a full-bodied experience that is both lush and sophisticated. Its acidity is bright and lively, perfectly balancing the rich fruit character that highlights notes of dark berries and plums, entwined with hints of chocolate and spice. The tannins are notable, lending structure and a firm backbone that hints at the wine's aging potential. This elegant red is a dry yet expressive offering, making it an excellent companion for hearty dishes or an indulgent evening on its own. The 2011 vintage is particularly distinguished, embodying the terroir of the Cachapoal Valley with grace and charm.

Valle Central

The expansive, warm flatlands of Chile's Valle Central are home to most of the country's vineyards. This long stretch of land from Santiago to Itata Valley is divided into four sub-regions, each with its own climate and reputation. There is Maipo Valley with its minty Cabernet Sauvignon, Rapel Valley with its spicy Carménère and the Curicó and Maule Valleys, famous for concentrated Carignan made from old vines. Throughout the valley—which is prized for its rich, volcanic soils—the hot days and cool nights result in ripe, well-balanced grapes. Some of the most common Valle Central wines are fruit-forward reds made from plummy Merlot and pear-flavored whites crafted from Chardonnay.
