Gold Series

2012 Puglia Negroamaro

The Vigne Vecchie Gold Series is a captivating red wine crafted from the Negroamaro varietal, hailing from the sun-drenched region of Puglia. This 2012 vintage reveals a deep, ruby hue that entices the eye, while the nose is graced with complex aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, and subtle hints of spice. On the palate, the wine showcases a full-bodied character, with lively acidity that provides freshness and balance. The tannins are firm yet refined, offering structure without overwhelming the fruit. With an intense fruit profile, this wine delivers a delightful richness, culminating in a satisfying and dry finish that leaves a lasting impression. Perfectly reflecting the unique terroir of Puglia, the Vigne Vecchie Gold Series is an exquisite representation of the region's winemaking tradition.

Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
