Oregon

The Willamette Valley produces an impressive array of styles across its six AVAs, from fragrantly fruity to lush and complex. This is thanks to a range of terroirs that are eerily similar to Burgundy's in France (Oregon even lies on the same latitude). In fact, major Burgundy producers have set up in Oregon to make wine, including Domaine Drouhin and Louis Jadot. And it is not just Pinot Noir found in Oregon. Other benchmark grapes include Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling; Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah thrive in the southern AVAs.
