Fievo

2008 Salento 80% Chardonnay, 20% Fiano di Puglia

The A Global Wine Co Selection Fievo, a delightful blend of eighty percent Chardonnay and twenty percent Fiano di Puglia, hails from the sun-drenched region of Salento. This vintage 2008 white wine showcases a pale golden hue, inviting you to savor its aromatic complexity. On the palate, it presents a well-rounded profile with a medium body that is both refreshing and satisfying. The acidity is bright and lively, enhancing the wine's crispness, while the fruit intensity shines through with notes of ripe citrus and stone fruits that are beautifully harmonized. A subtle hint of floral undertones adds an elegant touch, making this wine a delightful accompaniment to light dishes and seafood. The finish is clean and memorable, inviting you to enjoy another sip of this exquisite expression of Salento's rich terroir.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
