2015 Maipo Valley Carmenere

The De Martino Estate Carmenere from the Maipo Valley is a captivating red wine that embodies the rich, bold character of this renowned region. With a full-bodied nature, it envelops the palate in layers of complexity. The bright acidity enhances its drinkability, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the wine's prominent fruit intensity, which showcases intense notes of black fruits and dark berries. The tannins are notably structured, giving the wine a satisfying grip that beautifully balances its richness. This 2015 vintage is perfectly dry, inviting exploration and enjoyment, reflecting the sun-drenched conditions of the Maipo Valley that contribute to its vibrant profile.

Chile
Chile

In recent years, Chile has increasingly produced incredible wines of exceptional value. With a setting influenced by the Andes Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, the Atacama Desert and even Antarctica, Chile is a diverse land with rocky foothills, lush valley floors and cool coastal zones. Chile gained international renown for its New World take on classic Bordeaux varieties. Interestingly, it's an obscure red Bordeaux variety—Carménère—that has become Chile's signature grape. But other Old World varieties do equally well in Chile; Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay have all become mainstays of Chilean wine, exhibiting impressive levels of quality and balance in the country's distinct terroirs.
