E Salento Rosso

2010 Salento Negroamaro, Zinfandel

Mescula E Salento Rosso is a captivating red wine hailing from the picturesque Salento region of Italy, born from the vibrant Negroamaro and Zinfandel varietals. This 2010 vintage presents a rich, deep crimson color that hints at the robust character within. On the palate, it showcases a full-bodied experience complemented by a medium-high acidity that brings life to its delightful fruit intensity. Expect a harmonious blend of ripe black fruits, subtle spice, and just a touch of earthiness, creating a delightful complexity. The tannins are notable yet rounded, providing a structured mouthfeel that enhances the wine's overall balance. With a well-defined dryness, it pairs wonderfully with red sauces, grilled meats, or aged cheeses, making it a perfect companion for hearty dishes. Mescula E Salento Rosso embodies the sun-drenched terroir of Salento, delivering both warmth and richness in every sip.

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
