Decollete 2015 Pinot Gris-Viognier IGP Languedoc France

2015 Languedoc-Roussillon Pinot Gris-Viognier

Decollete 2015 Pinot Gris-Viognier from the IGP Languedoc region of France offers a balanced and harmonious combination of Pinot Gris and Viognier grapes. This white wine presents a medium body with a pleasant acidity level that lends a refreshing quality to each sip. The fruit intensity is notably prominent, showcasing vibrant fruit flavors that excite the palate. The dryness of this wine complements the fruit intensity, creating a well-rounded and sophisticated drinking experience that is perfect for any occasion.

Tasting notes:

Like a traditional Pinot Gris, Decollette pairs perfectly with fresh vegetables, raw fish and lighter meals, but the depth added by oak-aged Vigonier allows it to complement heartier dishes as well.

Region:

Languedoc-Roussillon
Languedoc-Roussillon

France's oldest and largest winemaking region, the Languedoc-Roussillon stretches around the sun-kissed Mediterranean from Roussillon to Provence. Taking in everything from rugged mountain slopes to breezy coastline, this vast region features various climates and terroirs. Outside of its famous AOCs like Minervois, Corbières and Saint-Chinian, many Languedoc wines are made in the less restrictive IGP classification, in particular the Pays d'Oc. There are many wine styles made in Languedoc, but full-bodied reds blending Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are the most common. For summer drinking, look to its fruity rosé, rounded Chardonnay and zingy Picpoul. You will often find grape varieties stated on the label of Languedoc's IGP wines, an uncommon practice in much of France.
