Curioture 2017 Cabernet – Merlot – Petite Sirah Rattlesnake Hills, Washington

2017 Rattlesnake Hills Cabernet – Merlot – Petite Sirah

Curioture 2017 blends a harmonious trio of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Sirah, crafting a captivating red wine from the esteemed Rattlesnake Hills region in Washington. This wine offers a medium-full body, balanced with moderate acidity that complements the fruit-forward nature of the blend. Tannins are notable, adding structure and depth to the overall profile.

Tasting notes:

A mature nose offers potent aromas of cigar box, whiskey, leather, and cocoa. Cabernet Sauvignon provides this blend a tannic structure that supports Merlot’s plushness. Ripe blackcurrants give way to balsamic reduction flavors, while Petite Sirah emphasizes a lingering, fruity finish.

Region:

Yakima Valley
Yakima Valley

Washington's Yakima Valley enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year, thanks to the shelter provided by the Cascade Mountains. And although it is dry here, it has the coolest climate in the Columbia Valley. With innovative irrigation and canopy techniques in the vineyards, Yakima Valley is home to nearly a third of Washington's wine production. Bright sunlight and crisp temperatures result in well-balanced wines with complex flavors and mouthwatering acidity. Fresh, creamy Chardonnay and surprisingly floral Rieslings are the main white wines here. There are also some impressively elegant red Bordeaux-style blends and peppery Syrah with a backbone of rich, dark fruit.
