Corollario

2010 Puglia Chardonnay

I Colossi Corollario is a captivating 2010 Chardonnay hailing from the sun-kissed region of Puglia in Italy. This white wine showcases a delightful full-bodied character, enveloping the palate with a smooth, creamy texture that is both inviting and luxurious. It presents a high level of acidity, which adds a refreshing brightness and enhances its overall balance. The fruit intensity is prominent, featuring luscious notes of ripe stone fruits, like peach and apricot, complemented by hints of citrus zest that invigorate the senses. With a dry demeanor, this wine elegantly showcases its mineral undertones, reflecting the unique terroir of Puglia. The subtlety of the tannins provides just enough structure to support the wine's vibrant profile, making it an exceptional choice for those seeking a rich and harmonious Chardonnay experience.

Region:

Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
