Coach's Cuvée

2017 Santa Ynez Valley 90% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah

The 37th Parallel Coach's Cuvée from the 2017 vintage is a delightful red blend hailing from the picturesque Santa Ynez Valley. Composed predominantly of Mourvèdre, with a touch of Syrah, this wine greets the senses with an inviting deep ruby color. On the palate, it showcases a full-bodied nature that harmonizes beautifully with its bright acidity, creating a mouthwatering experience. The fruit intensity is prominent, offering luscious notes of ripe blackberries and plums, while subtle hints of earthy undertones and spice add complexity. Its tannins are notably firm but well-integrated, providing structure without overwhelming the fruitiness. This wine is crafted in a dry style, making it an excellent companion for grilled meats or hearty pasta dishes.

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.
