Chiaro Di Luna

2009 Salento Chardonnay

Marco Maci Chiaro Di Luna is a stunning white wine from the picturesque Salento region of Italy, where the warm Mediterranean climate perfectly nurtures the Chardonnay grape. This 2009 vintage showcases a delightful balance of bright acidity and medium-bodied elegance, resulting in a refreshing mouthfeel that is both invigorating and inviting. With pronounced fruit intensity, it features captivating notes of crisp green apple, vibrant citrus, and a hint of tropical fruits, creating a delightful sensory experience. The wine reveals a wonderful harmony between its dry character and subtle, well-integrated oak nuances, which contribute to its complexity and richness. Perfect for pairing with seafood dishes or simply enjoying on a warm afternoon, Marco Maci Chiaro Di Luna is not just a wine, but a true celebration of its terroir.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
