Margaux

Margaux is one of the most important appellations in Bordeaux. It lies in the southern part of the Haut-Médoc on the Left Bank of the Gironde River. Unlike other prestigious Bordeaux appellations, Margaux's vineyards are not separated by quality. Margaux wines tend to follow the typical Bordeaux blend, boasting a higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon than Merlot. AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) is the most prestigious of the quality tiers within France’s wine classification system.
