Cantine Paradiso

2010 Puglia Negroamaro

Vinolea Paradiso Srl Cantine Paradiso is a stunning representation of the Negroamaro varietal, hailing from the picturesque region of Puglia. This 2010 vintage enchants with its deep ruby-red hue, inviting enthusiasts to explore its rich character. On the palate, it showcases a medium-bodied profile paired with a moderate acidity that offers a refreshing balance against the wine's fruit-forward nature, dominated by dark cherry and ripe plum notes. The tannins are finely structured, providing a soft yet notable foundation that enhances the overall drinking experience. As a dry wine, it is food-friendly, making it an excellent companion for hearty pasta dishes or grilled meats, making it a delightful choice for those seeking a memorable taste of southern Italy.

Region:

Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
