Bizantino

2006 Salento White Blend

Pervini Bizantino is a delightful white blend hailing from the sun-kissed Salento region, known for its captivating landscapes and rich winemaking heritage. This vintage 2006 offering presents a vibrant white color that entices the eye, while its aromatic profile bursts with inviting notes of stone fruit and citrus, complemented by subtle floral undertones. On the palate, the wine showcases a bright acidity that invigorates the senses, creating a refreshing experience that is nothing short of mouthwatering. The overall body is elegantly medium, allowing the harmonious fruit intensity to shine through without overwhelming the palate. This well-crafted blend is wonderfully dry, making it an excellent companion for seafood dishes, light pasta, or simply enjoyed on its own while soaking up the sun in a picturesque setting.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
