Covering the entire southeastern third of the country, the South Eastern Australia designation is a vast area (over 1,200 miles long and encompassing the regions of South Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania). Many of Australia's best wines are made here. From the stunning Shiraz produced around Adelaide to the luscious Sémillons of the Hunter Valley, and from the fragrant Pinot Noirs of Tasmania to the lush Chardonnay of Riverina, nearly every grape variety and wine style flourishes in South Eastern Australia, basking in the sun-kissed Mediterranean climate and rich, varied soils.
