Bianco Del Salento

2010 Salento White Blend

The Mottura Bianco Del Salento 2010 is a delightful white blend hailing from the picturesque Salento region. This wine presents a brilliant pale yellow hue, enticing the eye with its shimmering clarity. On the palate, it offers a medium body that strikes a harmonious balance between richness and refreshing lightness. The acidity is bright and lively, providing a mouthwatering quality that enhances its overall drinkability. Aromas of citrus and stone fruits lead the flavor profile, revealing a prominent fruit intensity that evokes sunny days on the Italian coast. The finish is dry, leaving a crisp and clean sensation that invites another sip. This wine beautifully captures the essence of Salento’s terroir, making it an excellent pairing for a variety of dishes or simply enjoyed on its own.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
