Bianco

2012 Salento White Blend

Mottura Bianco is a captivating white blend from the sun-kissed Salento region, known for its vibrant terroir that breathes life into every sip. This 2012 vintage showcases a lovely pale straw color, enticing the eye before revealing its complex character. The wine boasts a medium body that is elegantly balanced, with lively acidity that invigorates the palate, making it incredibly refreshing. Aromas of zesty citrus and stone fruit come forward, supported by a prominent fruit intensity that leaves a delightful impression. Its dryness enhances the crispness of the wine, perfectly complementing seafood dishes or light salads while making it a versatile choice for any festive gathering. Mottura Bianco is truly a wonderful example of how the Salento region's unique climate and soil contribute to the finesse and flavor of its wines.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
