Bella Mojgan

2016 Salento Negroamaro 80% + Merlot 20%

The Marco Maci Bella Mojgan 2016 is a captivating red wine that beautifully reflects the essence of the Salento region in Italy. Composed primarily of Negroamaro and complemented with a touch of Merlot, this wine showcases a full-bodied profile that is both robust and inviting. The acidity is bright and mouthwatering, providing a delightful contrast to the prominent fruit intensity that bursts with ripe dark berries and subtle cherry notes. Tannins are firm yet well-integrated, lending structure and a pleasant texture to the palate. As this wine is dry, it is an excellent choice for a variety of food pairings, making it a versatile companion for any occasion. Whether enjoyed on its own or alongside a hearty meal, the Marco Maci Bella Mojgan is sure to impress with its harmonious balance and depth of flavor.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
