Appellation Series

2005 San Francisco Bay Petite Sirah

The Rosenblum Cellars Appellation Series Petite Sirah from the 2005 vintage showcases a vibrant red hue that captivates the eye. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay, this wine opens with an inviting bouquet of dark fruits, blackberries, and plums, complemented by subtle undertones of baking spices. With a full-bodied structure, it strikes a harmonious balance between lively acidity and robust tannins, creating a mouthwatering experience that lingers elegantly on the palate. The fruit intensity is pronounced, highlighting the rich essence of the varietal in a way that is both approachable and satisfying. This wine is also notably dry, making it an exceptional pairing for rich meats and hearty dishes.

Region:

Central Coast
Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.
