Abatemasi

Salento Negroamaro

The Produttori Vini Manduria Abatemasi is a stunning expression of the Negroamaro varietal, hailing from the sun-drenched Salento region of Italy. This full-bodied red wine captivates the senses with its deep ruby color and alluring aromas of dark berries, plums, and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, it showcases a perfectly balanced structure, featuring prominent, ripe tannins that provide a firm backbone, while the acidity adds a refreshing lift. The fruit intensity is remarkable, with luscious flavors that linger and evolve, complemented by subtle notes of Mediterranean herbs and spices. This dry wine is a true testament to the unique terroir of Salento, delivering an exquisite drinking experience that invites delightful pairing with hearty dishes or enjoying on its own.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
